This is a working draft of a short open course (OER), co-designed with Alex Fenlon at the University of Birmingham. The module explores ethical and legal issues surrounding contemporary academic research and engagement with (especially digital) data.
Technical note: the course has been built to compile using [bookdown](https://github.com/rstudio/bookdown), and so the live instance of the course is compiled from openly accessible resources located in [a github repository](https://github.com/kidwellj/data_ethics-law_course). Instructions are in the [README](https://github.com/kidwellj/data_ethics-law_course/blob/master/README.md).
